Math Superheroes!
Students who make a 100% on pre - tests are Math Superheroes. They will have alternate activities to complete which will provide a challenge for them.
We love math here in Mrs. Reaves's class! In order to improve our skills we set goals and are rewarded when we achieve those goals. Our 3 Goals for math involve timed math tests, Math Facts in a Flash, and having an 80% or better in math.
Timed Math Tests
Twice a week, on Tuesday and Friday, we take our timed multiplication tests. We start out with our 0/1 and continue through our 12's. Students who make a 100% advance to the next level. Students work at their own pace, and are encouraged to study so that they do not get behind. One of our goals for the second nine weeks is to sign off on at least 6 of the 12 levels. Students should complete their 0/1, 2's, 3's, 5's, 10's, and 11's. If they meet this goal (along with the other goals) they will get to participate in our end of the nine weeks GOAL PARTY in January. Check back to see how the students decided to celebrate and to see who has met this goal!

Math Facts in a Flash
Another one of our Math Goals involves a program which we use school wide called Facts in a Flash. Students are able to practice even from home to achieve this goal. Their goal for the second nine weeks is to pass 10 levels on Facts in a Flash. Those that meet this goal will earn a movie day! An additional goal is to make it past all the levels of subtraction. This goal will earn them popcorn. If they meet this goal (along with the other goals) they will get to participate in the GOAL PARTY for January.
